This was my first week back from tapering after the marathon.  Overall I felt decent.  I was tired on Thursday and didn’t plan to run, but I ate like crap all day, so I needed a run to help me feel better about that.  I’ve already blogged about Columbus.  Monday and Tuesday were pretty uneventful.  My Wednesday run was with the group and went well.  We did the bridges and into the International Friendship Park, followed by a quick beer.  Saturday was my first long run in a while.  I went out faster than I normally do with the thought that this will help my marathon times.  The first 11 were by myself, although for the first 5, I had my iPod with me.  Met up with the group at mile 11 to finish out.  Overall it was an OK week with a strong finish.

Place of the week:  http://dynamic.cinci-parks.org/cgi-bin/parks.cgi/park_desc?park_id=55  This is a link for the International Friendship Park on the Cincinnati waterfront.  This park was opened in 2003 and is a wonderful addition to the riverfront.  I especially love the winding trails as you run through the gardens of the world.  It’s especially beautiful first thing in the morning when the lights come on and it’s still dark out.  If you haven’t visted this park, make a point the next time you are down there.  It is near the Boathouse and offers free parking.
